Desert – the vast expanses of sand, is some thing which has always fascinated me. Finally, my dream of visiting such a desert and to top it all – Sahara, is, Inshallah about to be realised. To add to the spirit of adventure, it is a road trip!
The plan is to drive down south to the southern tip of Spain, hop on to a ferry to get across the Strait of Gibraltar. And for the final leg of the journey (which I thing would be the most interesting one) drive further south Morocco into Mauritania.

The journey which will get me back to my family (which is THE thing that I will miss the most) and to the work is a relatively simple one – hop on a plane.

Oh, yeh almost forgot to point out here – Visa’s. A German national does not need any visa to travel across Europe, Morocco as well as Western Sahara. But one needs visa for entry into Mauritania, which was duly applied and granted from the Mauritanian Embassy in Berlin. Postal application takes about 3-4 working days.
